Princeton university USA. Portia Nathan (Tina Fey) is one of the responsible parties of the admission of students to scholarships, and her job is to evaluate with the upmost rigor thousands of candidacies. Despite her obsession with organisation, her life will be turned upside down when in a visit to an alternative high school she meets Jonh Pressman (Paul Rudd), a former colleague. Pressman, now a dedicated professor filled with ideas convinced himself that Jeremiah (Nat Wolff), one of his brightest students, is the son she gave up for adoption when she was very young. The boy is preparing to apply to Princeton.
